Enterprise server room EATON UPS
An EATON UPS selected around the room's real load and distribution, balancing power quality today against a stable supply of spares and batteries for the years ahead.
The room had grown equipment by equipment for years, and the UPS had quietly grown old alongside it.
Configuration: 1 × EATON online UPS system
The challenge
Each year the room had taken on more equipment, and the existing UPS was running close to its limit while some battery strings were past their service life. The client needed the capacity upgraded without stopping the business, and wanted to be confident that batteries and spares would still be easy to source afterwards.
What we did
We started with a full load survey and a runtime calculation, which fixed both the new capacity and the growth margin to leave. From there we specified an EATON online model. The changeover was done by building a bypass first and then switching, with the work scheduled outside working hours so nothing went offline. Battery and parts lead times were part of the selection, not an afterthought.
The result
The room now has its capacity upgrade and enough spare headroom for the next three years. The changeover was completed within the planned shutdown window and the business saw no interruption.
