Project case studies
Every project below started with a site survey and a specific constraint — rack space, floor loading, runtime, inrush current or a hostile environment. The configuration followed from that constraint, which is why the same problem rarely gets the same answer twice.
Machine rooms and server rooms
- Enterprise server room EATON UPS — an EATON system selected against the room's actual load and distribution, with parts availability planned for over the unit's life.
- Battery UPS for a technology company machine room — extended runtime for a firm that could not accept a mid-day outage.
- 6 kVA server backup power with four LiFePO₄ packs — lithium packs chosen because the rack had no space or floor loading left for a separate battery cabinet.
- Mobile rack server backup power — a rack that moves, so the backup had to move with it.
- EATON 15 kVA UPS installation — a larger three-phase-adjacent installation with distribution and bypass provision for future maintenance.
Security, surveillance and access control
- CCTV control room UPS with lithium batteries — recording, access control and intercom on one protected circuit, with non-essential loads moved off it.
- UPS and two lithium packs for a small CCTV system — a right-sized solution where a bigger unit would have been wasted money.
Telecoms, industry and laboratories
- 40 kVA lithium battery UPS for a telecoms machine room — lithium chosen to fit the required runtime into a battery room that was already full, with BMS protection and thermal provision.
- Battery UPS for an SMT production line — protecting a line where losing power mid-batch scraps the whole batch in progress.
- Hospital lithium battery UPS — backup where an interruption is a clinical risk, not just an inconvenience.
- Laboratory lithium battery UPS — protecting instruments and samples that do not tolerate an unclean shutdown.
Vehicles and residential
- Vehicle-mounted lithium battery UPS — a communications vehicle where the load matters more than the drive.
- Onboard UPS backup power for a modified vehicle — onboard power that has to survive road vibration and a wide temperature range.
- Residential lithium UPS for essential home equipment — a small, quiet installation covering only the circuits that genuinely need it.
A note on the photographs
The images on these pages are representative photographs of the same class of installation, not photographs of the individual sites — the same discretion our commercial and medical customers expect of us. The configurations, constraints and outcomes described in each case are real, and we can take you through the sizing arithmetic for any of them over the phone or on a site visit.
Want to talk through a similar requirement? Contact us or send photos of your existing installation on WhatsApp, and an engineer will tell you what a comparable configuration would take.
