UPS knowledge base
The questions customers ask us most, answered properly — how to size a UPS, when batteries actually need replacing, what goes wrong at installation, and how to diagnose a fault before calling anyone.

- What is a UPS? The three architectures explained — standby, line-interactive and online double-conversion, and which one your equipment actually needs.
- What size UPS do I need? Sizing capacity and runtime — how to measure real load, allow for inrush current, and work back from a battery capacity to a runtime figure.
- When should UPS batteries be replaced? — the three measurements that decide it, and why age alone is a poor guide.
- Five installation essentials — the mistakes that turn a correctly sized UPS into an unreliable one.
- UPS troubleshooting: what you can check, what needs an engineer — a safe order of checks before anyone opens a cabinet.
Why we publish this
Most UPS problems we are called to are not equipment failures — they are sizing errors, battery packs past their service life, or an installation that was never finished properly. Explaining how the decisions are made lets you judge a quotation on its merits, and it means the first conversation with our engineers is about your site rather than the basics.
If your question is not covered here, send it to us — we answer technical questions from existing customers and prospective ones alike, and the useful ones get written up into new articles. Product specifications live on the Chinese model pages, and every model number is searchable on the full model list.
