UPS Battery Replacement

Batteries are the wearing part of every UPS. We replace them on schedule — not after the alarm.

The battery bank is the heart of a UPS and its shortest-lived component. VRLA (sealed lead-acid) batteries typically last 3–5 years in Hong Kong's heat; beyond that, capacity falls quickly and often invisibly — until the power cut arrives and the runtime is a fraction of what you paid for.

Our replacement service

  • Load-independent health test first: we measure individual block voltages and internal resistance before recommending anything
  • Replacement battery supply matched to the UPS (correct capacity, terminal type, form factor) — VRLA or lithium where appropriate
  • Safe replacement: shutdown/energisation procedure, torque-correct terminals, reassembly and cleanup
  • Full runtime test after replacement
  • Old batteries removed and disposed of via licensed recycling — not dumped

Replace one block or the whole bank?

Honest answer: with VRLA, mixing old and new blocks in one string shortens the life of the new ones and hides weak blocks. We recommend string-level replacement once blocks start failing, and we will show you the measurement data behind the recommendation.

Considering an upgrade to lithium?

If your UPS chassis supports it — or if you are replacing the UPS anyway — a LiFePO4 battery system offers 2–3x the cycle life, roughly half the weight, and much better tolerance of Hong Kong's ambient temperatures. Our own factory builds lithium UPS and battery packs that can be customised to your voltage and runtime requirements.
