A small office in a Hong Kong commercial building needed backup power for its office equipment, with only a tight corner available for the UPS itself.

The challenge

The available floor space was limited, so the UPS had to sit unobtrusively in a corner. The building mains occasionally dips or cuts out briefly, and the office could not afford interrupted work or lost data — yet did not want the installation to disturb daily operations either.

What we did

We selected a compact EATON tower online UPS that suits low-profile corner installation, following the same standards as our UPS installation service. After checking the input distribution and earthing, we powered the unit on under load: the panel showed roughly 0.4 kW of load with output and battery status normal, and we walked the client through the alarm indicators and day-to-day care. The result

The UPS started up first time and has been running on load since, sitting in its corner without taking over the office. When the mains misbehaves, the office equipment stays powered and nobody loses work to a short outage.
