Where the DX fits against the 9PX

Both are online double-conversion. The DX range is the value line — slightly larger per kVA, fewer premium features, noticeably lower price — and it is the right answer when the requirement is straightforward: a rack room, a defined load, standard runtime. The 9PX earns its premium where density, the lithium option or quiet operation matter.

The 3:1 models, in practice

A large share of Hong Kong industrial buildings have three-phase incoming and single-phase distribution inside the tenant floor. The DX RT 3:1 (10/15/20 kVA) takes the three-phase supply directly, balances the load across phases, and delivers single-phase output — avoiding a transformer in the room.

Key features

  • Online double-conversion, 0 ms transfer, output isolated from the mains
  • Output power factor 0.9–1 — driving capability matches modern PFC equipment
  • 95% efficiency online, 98% in high-efficiency mode
  • RT design — tower or rack mounting, switched per site
  • 6–10 kVA models can be paralleled for up to 99.99% availability
  • Compact — the 10 kVA model is 2U high and only 600 mm deep
  • Battery voltage and charge current configurable (6–10 kVA models)
  • Low input harmonics — friendly to upstream distribution and generators

Where it fits

Rack machine rooms

Everything in the cabinet — a rack-mount UPS shares the cabinet instead of taking floor space.

Branch and small equipment rooms

Limited space with remote monitoring — choose models that accept monitoring accessories.

Retrofitting backup

Adding a UPS without reworking existing wiring — rack-mount is the least invasive.

Frequently asked questions

What does the S in DX RT 2KS mean?
Long-runtime variant — the S models are configured for external battery strings, so the same cabinet holds a much larger battery bank. If your runtime target is more than about ten minutes, start with the S models.
What does 3:1 mean?
Three-phase input, single-phase output. It is the standard configuration for a room fed with three-phase supply but wired with single-phase distribution — common in Hong Kong industrial buildings.
